On December 12, the girls had a home game against Northern Valley. It was a very intense game between both teams, but the Falcons ended up with a win. The final score was 48-37, bringing their record to a 5-0 streak. Their next game is home on Thursday, December 14. Good job to the girls on their win and good luck with their future games!
Last Thursday, the girls basketball team traveled to Shelton to continue with their season. The girls played a tough game and won, the final score being 42-25. On Friday, there was a home game against Alma. The girls battled for a win and came through. The final score for the girls was 37-29. Their next game is home against Northern Valley on December 12. On Monday, December 11 the Wilcox-Hildreth FBLA chapter had a Christmas party. The party was held in the high school business room. There was food, games, and crafts. There was a gift exchange and everyone got a gift. The group also played a very intense game of “Four Santa’s on a Couch.” Everyone had a great time. Thank you to all who came!
Last Thursday, the boy’s basketball team headed to Elwood to play their first game. JV played first and won. The varsity played next and also won, the final score being 72-35. On Friday, the boys then headed to SEM to play their second game of the season. There was no JV game. The team swept SEM with a winning score of 41-18. The boys’ next game is in Shelton on December 7. Good job to the boys and good luck on their future season!
On November 16, the Junior math class took a day to head down to Lincoln to participate in the UNL’s annual math day competition. The class drove down there the night before and had a fun night of activities that consisted of eating pizza and playing laser tag. The next morning, the group woke up early and headed over to the campus to take a math test. When it was over, the class participated in a quiz bowl. The group placed well and it was a fun day for all!
The week of October 23rd-27th was Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign. Red Ribbon Week also stands for healthy living and being kind to others. This week, the elementary and high school participated in a activity called the “Kindness Rock Project.” The “Kindness Rock Project” is an activity where you paint rocks and then write an inspirational quote on it. You then place the rock outside so anyone can see it throughout their day. Thank you to all who participated!
Last Thursday, the football boys played their last game of the season. The game was held at home and they played Deshler. All the boys fought hard, but ended up losing. The final score was 60-34. Good look to the boys as they start their basketball season!
The Falcons had a home triangular against Shelton and Axtell on September 21st. First they played Shelton and played a good game but lost. The final scores were 25-21 and 25-17. They played Axtell last and lost, their final scores were 25-10 and 25-9. They played hard during both games and good luck to them in their future games!
On Thursday September 12th, the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons had a home triangular in which they played Southern Valley and Axtell. They played very hard in both games, but ended up losing both. They played Southern Valley first and the final scores were 25-5 and 25-11. The last game of the night was played against Wilcox and Axtell, the final scores were 25-15 and 25-17. Good job to all teams and good luck in the rest of the season!
