The National Honor Society will hold their induction ceremony for the oncoming members in the Wilcox high school music room at 7:00. Congratulations to Claire V., Lilian P., Skye K., and Jacob W. for becoming NHS’s new members!
The K-12 held their annual Christmas Music Concert on Dec. 17 in the Wilcox gym. Choir was first to start the night off singing a selection of Christmas favorites. Elementary kids then put on a musical/play called “Jingle All The Way”. High school band ended the night by playing three songs filled with Christmas spirit. The elementary art was on display in the old gym as well. Lastly, Santa flew in to say hello to all the kids. It was a great night and everyone did an awesome job!
The Falcons’ One Act 2018 season has come to an end. This year’s play was called “As The Stomach Turns” an adaptation of the Carol Burnett show. The team had many successes this year, starting off with a win at FKC. The team then continued their season by performing at districts, placing first! This meant that the team was headed to state! The team traveled to Norfolk and placed fifth in Class D2. Congratulations to the One Act team for an awesome year!
The Wilcox-Hildreth One Act team has qualified for State in Norfolk. The team competed at Districts in Holdrege on Monday, Nov. 26 and placed first! The team will hold a school performance also open to the public and then have a state sendoff shortly after. The team will then begin their travel up to Norfolk where they will do a walk-through at the Johnny Carson Theater. The team will perform on Wed. at 6:00 p.m. The awards ceremony will be broadcasted live on www.newschannelnebraska.com. Good luck to the One Act team!
The team will also hold a performance open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:00 p.m.
The Wilcox-Hildreth One Act team will perform at the Minden High School on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m. The team’s play is called As The Stomach Turns, based off of the Carol Burnette show. The team will also perform for FKC at the Holdrege Tassel on Tuesday, Nov. 20. . The team then performs Districts on Monday, Nov. 25 at, also, the Holdrege Tassel. On Saturday, Dec. 8, the team will put on a public show in the Wilcox gym for anyone who wishes to come. Come support the One Act team as they perform!
The Wilcox-Hildreth FBLA and FFA chapters are hosting a food drive to help raise donations for the Wilcox Food Pantry. The two chapters’ goal is to reach 1,400 canned or non-perishable food items. If the goal is reached, the entire school gets December 21 off. The deadline for the goal is in two weeks, October 31. As of right now, the two chapters have 755 items. There will be collection boxes for you to drop off items at the home volleyball game Oct. 16, and at the Homecoming games on Thursday night, Oct. 18. Let’s reach our goal!
On Tuesday, September 25th, the Wilcox-Hildreth FBLA chapter traveled to Kearney for the annual Fall Leadership Conference. The conference was held at the Holiday Inn. The day consisted of listening to a motivational speaker, Billy Cordes, and attending workshops about being an FBLA officer. It was a very productive day for the members of FBLA.
