On Monday, April 23, the Wilcox-Hildreth Youth Leadership group headed to Holdrege to model their prom dresses and tuxes. The group first went to Christian Homes to model the dresses and then headed over to Holdrege Homes. All the residents marveled at the beautiful dresses. The group had a very fun time modeling their dresses and tuxes and meeting new people.
On Monday, April 17, the high school band and choir held their concert in the high school gym. Singing solos and duets were performed by Lilian and Grace Pistulka, Magnolia Springer and Trevor Young, Grace Pistulka, Lilian Pistulka, and Trevor Young. Instrumental duets and solos were performed by Rebecca Saathoff-Beck, Magnolia Springer and Trevor Young. A percussion ensemble was performed by Riley Pool, Caleb Springer, Braiden Billington, and Trevor Young. Those who are in art class had all of their work displayed in the lobby. The choir, band, and art students all did a spectacular job! Good job Falcons!
The Wilcox-Hildreth track team headed to Elwood on Thursday, March 29 for a track meet. The boys track team placed 9th out of 12. The girls track team placed 7th out of 13. The individual results are as follows:
BRYCE TOBISSEN- tied 6th in 200 meter dash(24.50)
AJ JENKINS- 3rd in 300 meter hurdles(46.10)
GARRETT ORTGIESEN- first in long jump(19ft 10.50in)
SIDNEY GRUWELL- 2nd in triple jump(39ft 3.00in)
The boys team placed 6th in the 400 meter relay.
BROOKE QUADHAMER- first in the 400 meter dash(1:04:80)
BECCA SAATHOFF-BECK- placed 5th in the 300 meter hurdles(55.80)
CARLIE RUPE- placed 6th in shot put(31ft 7.00in), placed 5th in discus(102ft 9.00in)
ABBY QUADHAMER- placed 3rd in long jump(15ft 1.00in)
KATHRYN POTTER- placed 4th in pole vault(8ft)
The girls team placed 5th in the 400 meter relay and placed 4th in the 1600 meter relay.

On Monday, February 26th, the freshman class took a trip to Curtis to compete in the science fair. Mrs. D took six students to participate. Natalie B. and Noelle R. both were awarded 3rd place. Cassandra R. was awarded honorable mention. Creed also won 2nd in his division. Evan B. won the overall award for high school and will be attending the National Science Fair Convention in Pittsburgh, PA on May 13. Congrats to all the freshman for their outstanding awards!
On Tuesday, February 20th, the Falcon boys basketball team headed to Southern Valley to play the first round of subdistricts against Axtell. The Falcons played hard and defeated the Wildcats with a score of 65-44. The boys advance in the tournament to play Loomis on Thursday, Feb. 22. in Southern Valley. Last Thursday, the girls basketball team played a home game against Arapahoe. Both teams played very well but the Falcons ended up with a win. The final score of the game was 40-21. The girls played another home game on Saturday against Pleasanton. It was a very tough and intense game, and after a long battle for a win, the girls lost. The final score of the game was 42-26. Their next game is included in the Holiday Tournament in Hampton against Harvard. Good luck to the girls on their upcoming games!
On December 12, the girls had a home game against Northern Valley. It was a very intense game between both teams, but the Falcons ended up with a win. The final score was 48-37, bringing their record to a 5-0 streak. Their next game is home on Thursday, December 14. Good job to the girls on their win and good luck with their future games!
Last Thursday, the girls basketball team traveled to Shelton to continue with their season. The girls played a tough game and won, the final score being 42-25. On Friday, there was a home game against Alma. The girls battled for a win and came through. The final score for the girls was 37-29. Their next game is home against Northern Valley on December 12. On Monday, December 11 the Wilcox-Hildreth FBLA chapter had a Christmas party. The party was held in the high school business room. There was food, games, and crafts. There was a gift exchange and everyone got a gift. The group also played a very intense game of “Four Santa’s on a Couch.” Everyone had a great time. Thank you to all who came!
Last Thursday, the boy’s basketball team headed to Elwood to play their first game. JV played first and won. The varsity played next and also won, the final score being 72-35. On Friday, the boys then headed to SEM to play their second game of the season. There was no JV game. The team swept SEM with a winning score of 41-18. The boys’ next game is in Shelton on December 7. Good job to the boys and good luck on their future season!
