The Falcon boys basketball team won their subdistrict final game over Loomis last week to advance to the district finals. The winner of the district game will get to play in the state tournament in Lincoln! The district final game will be played on Tuesday February, 27th, at the Adams Central High School. The Falcons will be playing Giltner, and the game will start at 7:00! There will be a pep rally for the team before they leave on Tuesday. On Tuesday, February 20th, the Falcon boys basketball team headed to Southern Valley to play the first round of subdistricts against Axtell. The Falcons played hard and defeated the Wildcats with a score of 65-44. The boys advance in the tournament to play Loomis on Thursday, Feb. 22. in Southern Valley. On December 29, and December 30 the Wilcox-Hildreth basketball teams went to Hampton to play in the Holiday Tournament. On the first day of the Holiday Tournament the Wilcox-Hildreth girls won there first game against Harvard (49-31). On the second day of the tournament the Wilcox-Hildreth girls played Kenesaw and lost (52-38). Congrats to winning 2 place, and good luck on your next game on January 2.
Over the winter break, the Falcon basketball team participated in a holiday tournament. The tournament was held in Hampton, and took course over two days. On the first day of the tournament, the boys played Harvard. They played well and won with a final score of 44-34! The following day the team played Kenesaw in the championship game. They fought hard but fell to Kenesaw with a final score of 35-41. Overall, the team did great and received a runner-up plaque! Great job Falcons, and good luck at your next game!
The Falcon basketball team suffered their first lost on Tuesday, December 12th. They had a home game against Northern Valley, Kansas. The game was close, and the boys played well but lost. The final score of the game was 55-65. Their next game was on Thursday against Arapahoe. The team came out with a nice victory over the Warriors. The final score of the game was 51-40. They played one more game on Saturday. This game was home, and it was also a great win! The Falcons outscored the bulldogs 40-28! Great job Falcons! Their next game is on December 29th in Hampton! Last Thursday, the girls basketball team played a home game against Arapahoe. Both teams played very well but the Falcons ended up with a win. The final score of the game was 40-21. The girls played another home game on Saturday against Pleasanton. It was a very tough and intense game, and after a long battle for a win, the girls lost. The final score of the game was 42-26. Their next game is included in the Holiday Tournament in Hampton against Harvard. Good luck to the girls on their upcoming games!
On December 12, the girls had a home game against Northern Valley. It was a very intense game between both teams, but the Falcons ended up with a win. The final score was 48-37, bringing their record to a 5-0 streak. Their next game is home on Thursday, December 14. Good job to the girls on their win and good luck with their future games!
Congrats to all the wrestlers at the Axtell invite on December 12th. Lane L. coming in Third, Riley R. coming in Fourth, and Creed J. putting up some great matches. Wish them luck in their next meet in Cambridge on December 16th.
The boy’s basketball team played two more games last week! Their 3rd game of the year was on December 7th, at Shelton. The team played well and won with a final score of 69-43. Great job Falcons! They played their first home game the following day. Their opponent was Alma, and the Falcons won with a final score of 54-36! The team’s record is now 4-0!
