Wilcox-Hildreth Art Students Accepted into Scholastic Art Awards Show
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards has grown to be the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition initiative for creative teens.
At this year’s Nebraska Scholastic Art & Writing Awards there were 3,800 entries and only 34% earned awards. Two Wilcox-Hildreth high school art students were accepted into the Scholastic Art Awards Show. Abby Tarr (Freshman) received an Honorable Mention for her pen and ink drawing entitled “Flower One.” Juliet Billington (Senior) received an Honorable Mention for her charcoal drawing entitled “Dorothy.”
The Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska Exhibition will be displayed February 26 through March 31 at the Omaha TAC Building. “Congratulations to these talented students! I am so proud of their accomplishments,” stated Amber Kosmicki, K-12 Art Educator at Wilcox-Hildreth Public Schools.
