Wednesday, March 2nd , grades K-6 celebrated Read Across America Day with guest readers visiting each classroom. This was called GEAR or Guests Excited About Reading. Members of the community were invited to share their work experience, training, why reading is important to them and then read a story to the students. Guests included Connie Lovin, Mariah Abel, Franklin Co. Deputy Steve Lunsford with Chief Woodis, Jana Steinkruger, Jayleen Landstrom, Daine Rahmann, and Matthew Harms.
This day is designed to motivate children of all ages to read and is held on Dr. Seuss's birthday each year. Other reading activities were enjoyed by the students and staff.
