Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,
I am sorry to report that last evening we were made aware that a student made threatening statements against the school community. The Kearney County Sheriff's Department was contacted, who promptly investigated and effectively addressed the matter with the student. We appreciate the collaboration and diligent efforts of our law enforcement partners, along with the vigilance and courage of those that report these matters to the appropriate authorities. The Sheriff's Department was on site at the Wilcox building this morning to ensure a safe start to our school day. Consequently, we have no basis to believe that there is a credible threat to the health or safety of the school community at this time. By the same token, even idle threats or statements that elude or suggest violence by students are unacceptable. The school district and law enforcement will continue to take every threatening statement seriously and will react to them immediately.
We are sending this message to you to make sure you are fully informed of the situation and so that you know we have been following the directives of law enforcement and legal counsel. We are confident that all of our students were and remain safe while they are at school. To the extent this has affected our students or their sense of safety and wellbeing, we will have counselors and other staff members available at school to work directly with students regarding this matter. We also urge every parent to reiterate with their students that these sorts of threats are not funny, or a game.

Congratulations to our football players who were awarded district honors!

We would like to invite you to join the Wilcox-Hildreth FBLA chapter this holiday season as we work to donate to some amazing causes during this giving season. This season we are going to donate to the March of Dimes organization and the Nebraska FBLA Foundation. The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies in need. The Nebraska FBLA Foundation is a non-profit that supports all Nebraska FBLA in their efforts and achievements and provides a number of opportunities for members all across the state. This season we encourage you to donate to one of these amazing causes or a cause you feel passionately about. Check out the fliers below for more information on what is happening this December and look for exciting updates to come! Happy Holidays!!

Student Council organized and led a district wide gratitude activity! Every student and staff member wrote what they were thankful for on a leaf to create a forest of gratitude. In the elementary, they read a book and played a game with the students. Most of our students wrote about how they were thankful for their parents, family, and friends. Coffee made the cut for a lot of staff members as well!
#FalconFunFact... we are grateful!

Last week, the juniors were able to experience hands-on science at UNK's Science Day. They participated in labs that focused on astronomy, surgery, wildlife identification, electrical circuits, and sound wave lengths!
